About me:
This last Christmas, Kaiko bought me a book called "All About Me". It makes this bio thing a lot easier, because it asks several interesting questions designed to elicit information about you. I will be posting some of the more interesting ones every so often, but for right now, let me give you the basics.

Name: Brianna L. Privett

Location: usually in front of my computer.

Interests: web development/ human interfaces, literature, music, dressing up in costumes, travelling.

Family: I have three siblings, Brittany Privett, Bobbi Privett, and Adam Green. Brittany and Bobbi are on Maui, Adam is somewhere up north. As for parents, my mother is living somewhere deep in the back mountain woods of California, and I'm sure my father is somewhere in California as well, though I doubt I'll ever check.

Homestead: I live with my roommate Josh in Southern California, about four blocks from the ocean. He's an informationalist and pretty cool guy. We have a cat named Fitzgerald whom we call Fitz, and he's easily the smartest, coolest kitten I've ever seen.

Work: I'm freelancing now. I'll be working with Izumi Studios and a designer whose work I respect very much in a little office near the ocean. I'm excited as hell.

Other: I mentioned above that I like to travel, though my taste for it has soured some what. I went to Paris in March, but I flew some dinky airline (a DC-10 on a 12 hour international flight? Which canto of hell is that in?) while I was extremely ill, and spent the entire trip sick as hell. So I didn't accomplish much, though Paris is a gorgeous city. I've done some other travelling, spent some time on Maui as a child, and generally enjoy new people and customs.

About this site:

First off, you probably noticed the vanity domain. That tells you that it's a personal site, which means it is subject to my whims and prejudices. For example, if I don't want to design for 3.0 browsers, I won't, and nobody can bitch because it is MINE, all MINE!!!

However, not designing for the 3.0 generation of browsers goes against my philosophy of information architecture, which essentially states that web development is first and foremost a means of giving information to the general public, therefore I need to make that info as accessible as possible. So if it means creating three different sites and redirecting until my wrists break, then that's what has to happen. I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying that's how it is.

Luckily, I don't deem the information in my personal site vital enough to necessitate three different sites, so I coded it for Netscape 4.0 and IE 4.0/5.0. Those poor sods who can't read any of this because they're using a 3.0 browser will hopefully realize that they're missing out on something cool and download the free software.

Okay, onto some other notes. As you can see, this is the Spring version of briannadotorg, so I used Easter egg pastels and stuff. The navigation is fairly straightforward and consistent throughout the site, barring the Features section, because each Feature has unique navigation. That's because each Feature is usually somewhat artsy. Ha.

If you have any problems viewing anything, or things look unnaturally funky, just drop me a line.
